Game on the Second World attended until recently, all current platforms besides Nintendo DS. Even the PSP owners could force one's way through hell ruthless battles of the last century in the Medal of Honor, Call of Duty or Brothers in Arms. But the DS all this time, developers have passed it by. What exactly do they bother - is unclear. After all, everyone knows that the possibilities of DS-processing of 3D-graphics are at acceptable levels: as a proof of this can lead Metroid Prime: Hunters. Control scheme is also easy to come up with - again, keep in mind the said portable version of Metroid. Yes, and difficult to have to call Nintendo DS entertainment exclusively for housewives and young players (as well as young housewives) - most now is the destiny of Game Boy Advance.
But the company Ubisoft still restore justice - albeit not perfect, but still very, very worthwhile Brothers in Arms DS deserves close attention. At least from the fact that this is the first 3D-action on the Second World War in the gaming console library. In addition, an extremely beautiful and entertaining: we deployed very real battle with both soldiers and military equipment - from tanks to aircraft. And if the fighting in the sky would have seen only from afar, then participate in tank battles or fast ride in a jeep (fun firing enemy soldiers) will not just once or twice.
| | | Cluster enemies - not a cause for panic: our brave soldiers capable to cope even with a dozen opponents. | | In the Ardennes have especially hard times - the final mission, make nervous, even the most persistent players. | But nobody tried to make Brothers in Arms DS simulator - even managing a soldier is not particularly different from the control technique. Scheme with the same: D-pad used for scrolling and Left Shift to fire (if you want you can reassign the shooting to the right). The stylus serves several important functions: first, only it can be used to aim or look around, and secondly, to reload or change weapons, and thirdly, to use grenades. It would seem that everything is easy and only managing a little at first large reservoir, but to play more than half of Brothers in Arms DS is quite difficult. The reason is simple - get tired hands: after all, not for games like it was originally intended two screen console. But in actual fact, more than 30-40 minutes a day to give the game and not worth it. And it's not fatigue, and short duration: three unrelated story campaigns (Normandy, Tunis and Ardennes) contain a total of only 16 missions. In this case, each mission is sufficient to give 10-15 minutes. And, unlike most similar games, Brothers in Arms DS to boot from a checkpoint, not only after death but even after turning off the console. In other words, how badly you play - the ending is much closer than it seems. But it all depends on the point of view: firstly, we have an example of comfort and care for the play, and secondly, Brothers in Arms DS if specially designed for those who have absolutely no way to pay a large amount of time video games. It is unlikely that these bustler even notice the glaring flaws: often falling landfills outright weakness animation, unrealistic sounds of explosions and gunshots, and lameness artificial intelligence opponents wanted to spit on any obstacle with ease now and then pass through walls and shoot through tanks and concrete barricades. But our hero does not possess such sverhvozmozhnostyami: trying to repeat the trick with the passage through the wall, he is likely to remain in it forever.
| | | It is not necessary to run in front of tanks, posing as the chief defender of the motherland - it could end badly. Real heroes are hiding behind concrete walls and throw out a grenade. | | Soldier's sign: if in the field of view of an enemy tank came under the nearest bush lying unattended grenade. | However, the biggest disappointment we can safely assume that a multiplayer game: stated in the announcement "a few multiplayer modes" were only Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch. Search for a few more DS owners with a cartridge Brothers in Arms (game does not support the Single Card Play) does not hurt it would be desirable for the sake of a couple long ago bored regimes.
But do not be too severe - still ahead of us, not only the firstborn on WWII for the console, but also a rare species: a three-dimensional thriller genre not particularly well represented on the Nintendo DS. But not on this occasion Brothers in Arms got their scores: as no fault, but it's quite a decent game, that's only flaws is still a bit too much to become generous in the rating of "Excellent". But most importantly, that the first step is done - looking forward to the second. As well as moves of other developers - would love to hear announcements of Call of Duty DS and Medal of Honor DS, right?
| Original DS-development | Maybe for someone to become the news that the Brothers in Arms DS is not really an original DS-development. Hint look at the developer's studio: until recently Gameloft was developing entertainment exclusively for mobile phones. Those familiar with last year's Brothers in Arms 3D platform Symbian, a "new" game hardly will find yourself something new. But do not make round eyes and withdraw his hands: the ever-memorable Asphalt Urban GT and Splinter Cell, which Gameloft in his time also suffered on the DS, look near the Brothers in Arms ugly ducklings. And then one only stylus control is expensive: do not have to break your fingers on a standard keyboard.
